Birmingham Museums & Art Gallery's Birmingham Black History website (www.birminghamblackhistory.com) has been redeveloped using the Joomla open source content management system.

The website is officially launched on October 1st 2006 in time for Birmingham Black History month. The aim of the new website is to promote Black History throughout the year, and to encourage the public to add content to the website in the form of events, news, articles, images and a discussion forum. Further adult learning resources are also being developed for the site.

The Birmingham Black History website is funded by Renaissance in the Regions.
