Last week's security release introduced display problems in the comment preview that we're fixing with the following versions:
Please note that when using the 1.4.0 "combo" update, you will also have to remove some files to fix the security issue with FCKeditor's file manager, as explained in the included README file.
Invision Power Board 2.1.7 is a maintenance release which consolidates the recent security updates and adds an 'anti-virus' scanner. This is available from the new 'Security Center' (found under the admin tab). This will check your IPB installation for any suspicious and potentially malicious files that could have been uploaded using a previous exploit or via an exploit in a previous version of PHP that allowed one to upload malicious files via the dl() functions.
Invision Power Board 2.1.7 is the latest in our series of releases designed to further enhance the security of our software.
UPGRADING
Invision Power Board comes with full upgrading instructions. To upgrade from a version previous to IPB 2.1.6, please upload all the files (except the install folder and contents) and then run the upgrade system available from www.domain.com/upgrade/ (substituting www.domain.com for your board's URL).
Hello, We are pleased to announce the availability of the phpBB3 Beta1 package. With this first beta release we are officially starting the beta testing phase. Below are some guidelines regarding the first beta as well as the download locations.
Obtaining Support
During the beta phase a minimal level of support will be given. We will provide answers to general setup questions, configuration problems and support for determining common problems mostly related to bugs. We will not support modifications, custom code/style additions or any users using the beta packages within a live environment. For some support questions we may ask you to re-install the beta, clean tables in the database, purge data or other actions which are not advised to do in a live environment. So please be aware that you are still on your own if you run the beta in such an environment. Beginning with the release candidates full support will of course be given.
Updating Beta to RC/Final releases
We may provide update paths for going from the beta releases to the RC and final release, but we may also not provide them. This highly depends on how the beta phase evolves. So please be aware that your test installation will need to be replaced/removed if a new beta is announced. A full update path will be provided beginning with the Release Candidates.
Missing elements
Within the beta packages we do not include several features. These are the updater and the conversion tool for converting phpBB 2.0.x (and other packages) to phpBB 3.0.x. These might be included with later Betas, but certainly with the first Release Candidate.
Minimum Requirements
phpBB3 has a few requirements which must be met before you are able to install and use it.
Hi everyone, phpBB Group announces the release of phpBB 2.0.21, the "Bertie's Summer Vacation" edition. This release is a cumulative bug fix update, as well as including a number of minor security fixes. We have altered the visual confirmation system used on servers without zlib enabled to bring it up to the same level as that used elsewhere and made a few small performance improvements. As with all new releases we urge you to update as soon as possible. You can of course find this download available on our downloads page . As per usual four packages are available to simplify your update.
Full Package - Contains entire phpBB2 source and English language package
Changed Files Only - Contains only those files changed from previous versions of phpBB. Please note this archive contains changed files for each previous release
Patch Files - Contains patch compatible patches from the previous versions of phpBB
Code Changes - Contains step-by-step instructions in MOD format for updating heavily MODified installs
Yes I know this is not the one you're expecting...
We will however release a 0.9 update in the upcoming days, mostly to include a few bug fixes, easy antispam tricks and some new locales (Basque eu-ES, Icelandic is-IS, Polish pl-PL, Estonian ee-ET, Russian ru-RU).
Also, I just need to get this one out in order to clear my head!
By the way, if you have a 0.9.x language update sitting on your drive, please send it *now* ... or wait for Phoenix.
This will be the last 0.9.x release. After that one, it will be all 1.x aka Phoenix.
